How to Spot a Client Going Quiet (The Week-3 Pattern)

Five signals and a 48-hour reach-out. Don’t wait for the no-show.

Week 3 is when the honeymoon ends and the work starts. Quiet here is not “they’re fine.” It’s a leak. Don’t wait for the renewal sequence to notice.

Five Signals

  1. Homework skipped twice.
  2. Score flat or down after a spike.
  3. They reschedule into “sometime next month.”
  4. Replies shrink to one word.
  5. They praise you and bring nothing to coach.

Any two: 48-hour reach-out. This is not the Labor Day continuity note. It’s a temperature check after a diagnostic enroll that may have been too polite. Check progress before you guess.

The 48-Hour Note

“I’m noticing the thread got thin. Is this still the right work, or do we need to reshape the goal this week?”

Where Coaches Break

  • Waiting for the no-show so you can be “sure.”
  • Asking “how are you?” The answer is “fine.”

The 3-Minute Action

Scan the roster for two signals. Send the 48-hour note to anyone who has them. Book or complete. Don’t soothe.
